Research conducted by the Institute in 2009 showed that the general public does not clearly associate the word steel with the steelmaking industry. The term steel is applied to other segments of the economy.
In addition, the research identified the need to emphasize the importance of steel in people’s daily lives. At work, at home, at leisure, in hospitals, public works… wherever you look, there are products made of steel or from steel machines. The presence is so constant that steel often becomes invisible.
It was in this context that IBS changed its name to INSTITUTO AÇO BRASIL and implemented a new logo, strengthening the identity of the Brazilian steel industry and the importance of this product in people’s daily lives and in the country’s development.
The BRAZIL STEEL INSTITUTE reinforces the positive attributes of the steel industry: solidity, efficiency, social and environmental responsibility, strength, modernity and reliability.
